The venue opens at 9.30 am on Saturday April 28th
If you arrive after 11am you will not be able to participate in the competition.
The competition starts at 1pm London time Saturday, April 28th
Upon arrival to the venue you will have to register at the reception desk.
The reception desk should have your name in the list of participants.
If you have not registered in evenbrite you will not be in the list.
If you are not in the list, you will not be able to participate.
Competition ends Apr, 29th Sunday at 1pm. Prizes to be announved: Event ends: 3pm
The Data Science competition challenge: To improve the US Environmental Protection Agency’s Air Quality Index by designing a better and more accurate predictive models of metropolitan air pollution. The EPA’s Air Quality Index is used daily by people suffering from asthma and other respiratory diseases to avoid dangerous levels of outdoor air pollutants, which can trigger attacks. The aim of the hackathon is to help build a predictive model for the local early warning systems that are capable of accurately predicting dangerous levels of air pollutants on an hourly basis.
You will be provided with access to Kaggle Platform
Upon selection of the competition title Data Science Hackathon, you will be able to read the challenge, and access and download the dataset.
You can download the dataset to your laptop and you can use your own tools.
You will be provided with free access to Amazon AWS cloud services should you choose to run computational jobs there or require more storage capacity. You don't have to use AWS if you don't want.
You will provided with free access to EMC/Greenplum Hadoop and Database Community editions and other analytical tools. You don't have to use these tools if you don't want to.
You will be provided with 3 proper meals and unlimited drinks
Please bring your own sleeping mattress and sleeping bag.
